Singapore Flyer

The last time I went to Singapore Flyer was in March 2008 and at that time, the Flyer was not officially opened to the public yet. Today I made a trip there and I realised things have changed so much. Before there wasn't MBS, Garden By The Bay, etc. Today Flyer is surrounded by these beautiful architectures. It just make the entire place look so great!

If you want to go Gardens by the Bay, you should go at night. Lights from the towers and nearby MBS make the place more beautiful.

Prawning

Prawning is something new to me. I been 2 prawning places in Singapore, first one Hai Bin at Bishan and latest one is Bottle Tree Park at Khatib. I preferred Hai Bin at Bishan, the place is less crowded and more prawns. For bottle tree park, the pond is smaller, very crowded and harder to 'catch' the prawns.

Gardens by the bay

Went to Gardens by the bay last month, this is first time I been there after it was officially opened a few months back. Weather was bad when I was there, so didn't managed to take any good photo shots.

USS

Last week I went to Universal Studio Singapore (USS). This is my 4th visit to USS in period of 3 years. What I can subscribe about this place is 'it is getting popular and also getting more crowded'. I remembered when I was there last year, I queued up 40mins for the famous 'transformer' ride. To me that is considered a very long wait, guess now wait time is increase to 90mins. As for Battlestar Galactica (Human vs. Cylon) the dueling roller coasters ride, previously I get to ride on it in about 5mins, now the wait time for Human ride is about 30mins and 40mins for Cylon.

music inspires me

I have been so inspired by music this week. After watching these 2 video from TED, I have a thought of taking music lesson again. I learned piano when I was a young. I learned not because I was interested but more as a 'career's path to prepare myself to be a piano teacher after my graduation' since I hardly do well in my study. Well, I didn't make it as a music teacher but I ended up as a software engineer. When I hear a song, I can feel my fingers start to move, my feet start to tap, my heart start to count beats and my mind start to wonder. Yeah, music still inspires me...

First video is a performance by a Qi Zhang (organ virtuoso) performing on Yamaha's Electone Stageo.

Second video is by Jennifer Lin (pianist and composer) improvise a solo piece with random sequence of notes.

Famous mobile gaming app 'Angry Birds' created by Rovio is now a theme park in Finland.

Ironically this temple in Chichi(集集),Taiwan still stay intact after it was hit by historical strong earthquake known as 921 earthquake which happen in 1999.

The shape of the rocks are very fascinating. Use your imagination to see these photos, does it looks like a fish, left foot, frog and crocodile to you. The last one is my favourite photo. I love the formation, it is so unique.

Yesterday I posted grayscale images. Here are actual photos I tooked at Martyr’s Shrine (忠烈祠) while watching changing of guards, Taipei. I arrived at Taipei on 31st March and spent the next 3 days sightseeing Taipei city. This is my first trip to Taiwan and I went to places like Shida Nightmarket, Yongkang street, Taipei 101, etc. I also visited Wufenpu 五分埔, the famous place where you get clothings and accessories in cheap price.

These are a few of photos I took from latest trip to Taiwan. I made it grayscale just for fun to see how the image turned out to be.

I find architectural photography is challenging but i guess it can be rewarding if one can master it.
